There are many flooring options on the market, and it can be overwhelming when choosing a new floor and knowing what is the best solution for you and your family.

Are you wondering why polished concrete floors are so popular?

There are many reasons, so we asked our polished concrete craftsmen to share their top 5 reasons why they recommend a polished concrete floor for your new home or home renovation.

Hygiene and cleanliness

Polished concrete inside the home is a very clean flooring solution, and is especially practical in areas such as kitchens, dining rooms and bathrooms, where there is a big chance of something being dropped or spilt on the floor. If you have young children or pets, using polished concrete will mean you won’t have to worry when mess ends up on the floor as you will be able to quickly and easily clean up without the stress of removing stains or warping to carpet, wooden flooring or tiles.  Polished concrete is also hypoallergenic, which means nasty bacteria cannot build up on the floors surface.

Affordable and cost-effective

Flooring solutions don’t have to cost an arm and a leg! In in the long run, we have found that polished concrete is an affordable option that needs very little upkeep compared to other flooring options. Polished concrete has a much longer lifespan and has excellent durability in busy homes. This long lifespan means that it is one of the most cost-effective solutions on the market.

Cool in summer

Living in Australia means that a majority of months in the year are hot and polished concrete is nice and cool on your feet. Polished concrete floors absorb and store heat, and releases it slowly, meaning that it is not only cool for Summer, but can provide warmth during the cooler months of the year. Perth Exposed Aggregate can also make your polished concrete slip resistant which makes it both ideal for both in bathrooms and kitchens for use in the Summer seasons.

Aesthetics

If you are looking for your new home or home renovation, we understand that the flooring has to work aesthetically with your design. Polished concrete is one-off solution that will not lose its quality or finish over time. Perth Exposed Aggregate has a range of colours and options for you to choose from to ensure that your design vision is more than exceeded.

Long-term solution

Polished concrete has longevity compared to other flooring solutions such as carpet, as carpet has major maintenance and upkeep costs, as well as needing to be replaced every 10 or so years.  Once the concrete is poured then it will remain a long-term flooring solution for many years to come.

The reasons for choosing a polished concrete floor are endless, however, we are here to help provide you with all the information to make a decision that is right for you.
